I toured a small shrimp farm in INDIANA this weekend. I had no idea aquaculture like that existed. The owner, Karlanea, showed me all around her warehouse. (You can see her site at http://www.rdmshrimp.com/). Now I want to be a shrimp farmer!

And then I bought a pound, mmmm.

Basically, her husband is a farmer and was interested in raising tilapia. At the last minute, he decided to try shrimp. And she got sucked in and now runs it herself! I think they've been in business for ten years or so? She was previously an interior decorator.
